The person who points up an expedition is the one who is best known, best remembered. That’s fair because the person at the front is taking the big personal risks, but its only part of the story. Behind that person there is almost always a group of people without whom the expedition would not have succeeded.
WICHITA, Kan. (July 31, 2007) – Expanding global customer support in growth markets, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) has appointed Nigel Whiteman to the newly-created field service position in Delhi, India. The announcement comes just weeks after HBC announced that an agreement was signed with InterGlobe General Aviation Private Limited to provide sales and service support in the region.
Volunteer crews from the RNLI’s Rapid Response Unit (RRU) joined rescue efforts in Worcester and Gloucestershire during last weeks (21-24 July) floods.
A team of 31 volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew and two full-time team leaders assisted with rescues in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire during the peak of the floods after a request from local authorities. The initial RNLI Rapid Response Unit comprised of 11 crew members and four lifeboats (x3 D-Class and an Arancia inshore rescue boat), the team commenced operations at 3.15am on Saturday 21 July.
A further 20 RNLI volunteers were drafted in to help rescue efforts on Sunday (22nd) and Monday (23rd) as the scale of the flooding continued to mount and rescue efforts continued day and night.

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce the delivery of one AW109 Power light twin and one AW139 medium twin helicopter to the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. The handover ceremony took place AgustaWestland’s Vergiate facility in Italy on 28th July 2007.
These two aircraft are part of an order placed in June 2006 that also includes two CA109 Power helicopters produced by the Jiangxi Change Agusta Helicopter (CAH) joint venture company in China. The contract was the first contract awarded to CAH, which was established in 2005 to meet the growing Chinese light twin civil, law enforcement and emergency medical service helicopter market. These helicopters will perform law enforcement and security operations during the 2008 Olympic Games.

UDT saw an 8% delegate increase based year on year, defining its position as the leading European forum uniquely focused undersea defence event. UDT Event Manager Pearl Donvin-Crook stated, “It is excellent news that even through all of the problems we have had, UDT still remains top on the agenda of the leading figures within the undersea defence industry. We have broadend the scope for the first time in our history due to the demand from the naval community, and this was a total success.” She went on to say, “There are so many events that class themselves as international maritime events but do not cover the markets they state. UDT has a unique position whereby attendees meet potential clients who are focused in their relevant industry”
Jetcraft Aviation, a specialist air charter company based in Brisbane, Australia, yesterday night started operations with the first of two ATR 42-300s aircraft. This ATR 42-300 becomes the first ATR aircraft dedicated to freight operations in the South Pacific region.
The two aircraft will be operated as part of the new airfreight network on services linking Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. The Jetcraft ATRs can carry up to 54 cubic meters or over 5.5 tones of freight, which is securely stowed with a series of special cargo nets inside the plane. This first ATR 42-300 of Jetcraft takes to 30 the total number of ATR aircraft in operation in the Australia and Pacific Islands region.
AWLGRIP has appointed a new Technical Sales Representative, Jeroen de Vries at its headquarters in Belgium.
The new appointment follows an increased number of projects with superyacht boat builders in Germany and The Netherlands. In his new role, Jeroen will be assisting the New Build Managers, providing technical support to them as Awlgrip continues to grow in these markets.
