Bombardier Inaugurates World-Class Facility In Querétaro, Mexico

Today, Bombardier Aerospace announced the official opening of its world-class manufacturing facility located at the Querétaro Aerospace Park in Mexico. This new facility complements Bombardier’s existing manufacturing sites located in Canada, Northern Ireland and the United States. Manufacturing operations in this facility began in the second half of 2007.

Currently, Bombardier Aerospace has approximately 900 full-time employees working at its facilities in Mexico where they manufacture electrical harnesses and structural aircraft components. These components include the Challenger 850 mid-fuselage, the Q400 aircraft flight control work package (rudder, elevator and horizontal stabilizer), and the Global family of aircraft aft fuselage. By the end of 2008, Bombardier Aerospace expects to employ 1,200 full-time staff.

Grupo INAER Committed To Order Eighteen AgustaWestland Helicopters

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Grupo INAER of Spain has committed to purchase eighteen helicopters including six AW119 Ke single-engines, two AW109 Power and seven Grand light twins and three AW139 medium twins in 2008. These helicopters will be delivered by 2010. Grupo INAER is one of the leading Spanish Companies providing a wide range of helicopter services including scheduled passenger transport flights, search and rescue, EMS and fire-fighting applications operating in Spain, Portugal, Italy and France. The AW119 Ke will be used for firefighting missions while the AW109 Power, the Grand and the AW139 will be configured to perform EMS operations. Moreover the AW139 will be used for search and rescue and scheduled services roles.

Grupo INAER confirms its reliance on AgustaWestland’s helicopters as it already operates the AW109 Power and previously ordered Grand and AW139 twin-engine helicopters. This commitment marks the entrance of the AW119 Ke single engine in the Grupo INAER’s fleet as well. AgustaWestland is committed to further expand its commercial presence in the Spanish market where various helicopter types have achieved excellent results used by several leading customers for a number of applications including passenger transport, search and rescue, EMS and firefighting. AgustaWestland will also further expand its presence in Portugal, Italy and France. The AW119 Ke is AgustaWestland’s answer to worldwide current customer demand for a high performance, modern, multi-role single-engine helicopter. When configured for firefighting missions, the AW119 Ke can be equipped with various firefighting equipment and systems. The enhanced altitude performance and a wider temperature operating range of AW119 Ke provide unequalled firefighting operational capabilities.

Honeywell International Inc. Takes Delivery Of An AgustaWestland AW139 Helicopter

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Honeywell International Inc. has taken delivery of an AW139 medium twin turbine helicopter during an official ceremony at Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, Texas, today. The helicopter will be used for corporate transport purposes.

The AW139 will be based at the Morristown Municipal Airport in Morristown, N.J., which is the location of Honeywell Corporate Headquarters. The aircraft will be put into immediate service in the New York metropolitan area. Its service will reach as far south as Honeywell facilities in Richmond, Virginia, and as far north as Boston. The Northeast Corridor is one of the busiest regions of the country for aircraft – making this outstanding aircraft all the more valuable to Honeywell as a critical tool that will ensure and facilitate its business activities and help the company deliver on our business commitments. The AW139 will be taking over the primary role of transporting company executives, employees and customers.

Sloane Helicopters Ltd Signs A Contract For Thirteen AgustaWestland Helicopters

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Sloane Helicopters Ltd has signed a contract for thirteen additional helicopters comprising one AW119 Ke single engine, three AW109 Power and seven Grand light twin and two AW139 medium twin turbine engine models. The contract is valued at approximately US$ 87 million (€ 60 million). This latest order is part of the framework of the multi-year contract and distribution agreement signed in February 2006 which agreed the acquisition of a minimum of 44 helicopters to be delivered through to the end of 2010. This order and the ones signed in February 2006 and in March 2007 bring the total number of firm orders to 25.

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Kaigai Aviotech Corporation has ordered one AW119 Ke single engine and one AW109 Power light twin turbine engine helicopter. AgustaWestland and Kaigai Aviotech Corporation signed a distribution agreement in June 2007 under which Kaigai Aviotech Corporation will sell AW119 Ke, AW109 Power and Grand helicopters in the Japanese commercial market.

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Synergy Aerospace, a division of Synergy Group, has signed a contract for ten additional helicopters comprising four AW109 Power and four Grand light twin and two AW139 medium twin turbine engine models. The contract is valued at approximately US$ 72 million (€ 49 million). This latest order is part of the framework of the multi-year contract and distribution agreement signed in July 2006 which agreed the acquisition of 56 helicopters. This latest purchase is additional to the 30 helicopters already ordered by Synergy Aerospace. The helicopters will be used primarily for VIP/corporate and offshore transport and will be produced at AgustaWestland’s production facilities in Philadelphia, USA and Vergiate, Italy.

NASA’s senior officials and Space Shuttle Program managers are meeting today for the Flight Readiness Review, a standard process leading up to any shuttle mission. Known simply by its acronym FRR, the two-day session gives NASA a chance to evaluate whether space shuttle Endeavour is prepared for its duties during the STS-123 mission.

The group is to formally set a launch date for the flight at the end of the second day of meetings.
