Both RNLI lifeboats from Burnham-on-Crouch were called out today (Thursday 26th February) just after midday after receiving a report of sheep having entered the RiverCrouch at Clementsgreen Creek, near South Woodham Ferrers. The 25 sheep, including pregnant ewes, had been grazing on the marshes in the Creek before becoming cut off by an unusually high tide.

When the lifeboats arrived at the scene, around 15 of the sheep had managed to get back onto dry land but there were still several stranded on an area of marsh surrounded by deep water.
