RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat was launched to a report of a person cut off by the incoming tide at Cramond Island at this afternoon (Monday 30 March 2009).

Once on scene the lifeboat landed on the beach and located the casualty. With tides unfavourable, the helm took the decision to land the casualty at Granton Harbour. Upon safely passing the casualty to the local coastguard unit, the lifeboat headed home against wind and was recovered by the team at Hawes Pier.
