Space shuttle Atlantis reached the gates of Launch Pad 39A where it stopped so that technicians could grease the bearings of the crawler-transporter. Atlantis now is continuing the final leg of its journey.
The shuttle began its trip in the early morning darkness, rolling out of the Vehicle Assembly Building at 3:54 a.m. EDT.
