Margate RNLI lifeboat has today (29 May 2009) towed an angling boat to safety after their engine broke while they were fishing off Margate.

The 5m long angling boat had set out from Herne Bay harbour earlier for a days fishing off the north Kent coast, there were two people on board the craft. They anchored about eight miles north of Margate but hit problems when the starter mechanism of their outboard motor failed leaving them without power close to busy shipping lanes.
