Highlands woman sets off on marathon fundraising challenge around Loch Ness.

Judi McLeod (51) set off this morning on a 70 mile bike, hike and swim from Inverness Castle to Fort Augustus and back via the Great Glen Way and the waters of Loch Ness.
She is hoping to raise money and awareness for the Chest Heart and Stroke Association, Cash For Kids and Clan Cancer Support.

Amble RNLI Lifeboats launched to avert Bank Holiday tragedy as preparations were underway for their annual Lifeboat day.

The Bank Holiday weekend proved a busy one for the crews of the Amble Lifeboats. Since Friday evening, they had been preparing the harbour, the station and their vessels for the annual fund-raising Lifeboat day. However, as early morning preparations were underway for the day itself, which was due to start at 10.00am on the Sunday, the crew pagers went off for a mayday distress call from a yacht in trouble nearby.
