Pulau Indah, Selangor (June 30th): US coach Bill Gladstone described “Match racing is like Speed Dating – The quicker you get to know each other the better you will be”. He should have added that if you “Make a mistake you will get punished.” That is what’s happening on the water just in front of Marina Jabatan Laut on Pulau Indah. Some of the crews have changed and the Navy has a replacement skipper since Stage 1 and it is showing in the results.

Stop press 11.30: Four incidents have been reported by the race management team at the Island Sailing Club. There have been two head injuries and one spinal injury. Families have been informed and the Island Sailing Club will provide updates as further information becomes available. A small multihull capsized North of Hamstead Ledge on the North-West of the Island. All crew are safely onshore in Yarmouth.

Mariners are advised that due to low inflows, the water levels are low on
Lake St-Louis and above Cote Ste-Catherine lock.

Consequently and until further notice, vessel meets will not be permitted
between the end of the upper approach wall and the West end of Baillargeon
wharf for vessel with draft of 78.0 dm or more.

Note that the Notice to shipping No. 10 is still in effect.

The Seaway Corporation will advise you of any changes.

HAMILTON BERMUDA, June 29, 2012 – The day after the Newport Bermuda Race prizegiving in Bermuda, the Bermuda Race Organizing Committee (BROC) learned that an error occurred in the ISAF classification submitted for Kit Will, a crewmember aboard Carina in the 2012 Newport Bermuda Race. When Rives Potts, Captain of Carina, learned of the mistake, he immediately returned the Corinthian Trophy to the Bermuda Race Organizing Committee and apologized for the incorrect listing and the confusion about the trophy. The trophy is awarded for the best performance by an all-amateur crew in the St. David’s Lighthouse Division of the Newport Bermuda Race.
