Kelly’s young heroes take first blood in FarEast 28 fleet
By CCIR Media – Sailing Intelligence
Saturday 31 October, Shenzhen, China: A young Kiwi team led by 17-year-old Matt Kelly enjoyed a dominant first day’s inshore competition at the China Cup International Regatta. The Youth Training Programme team, sent to Shenzhen by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, notched up two bullets and a second place in the 20-boat fleet. “We’re pleasantly surprised,” said Kelly. “We haven’t raced in these boats before against these competitors, but the FarEast 28 is similar to what we race back home in New Zealand. It’s good competition out there, it’s fun getting to grips with the boat and learning what makes it tick.”

News flash: LEG 2 – They have left
• Good start at 15h10 TU+1 for the fleet of 63 solo racers en route to Guadeloupe
• Best start for Julien Pulvé (Novintiss 880)
• Tough conditions for the start
The Mini Transat Îles de Guadeloupe competitors set off to conquer the Atlantic with a sustained northeasterly wind and rough seas. Most of the skippers have preferred to play it safe, given the weather conditions (wind of 25 knots on average) and the fact that the boats were loaded to cross the Atlantic. On the pontoons prior to the start, the emotion was palpable.

Another Rose Shocker For Pro-EU Campaign
Another Rose Shocker For Pro-EU Campaign
by reevoguido
Commuters coming out of Victoria and Waterloo stations today are being handed free roses. Imagine the horror when chuffed office workers put their free gift down on their desks, only to turn over the label and find out they did pay for it after all. The roses are a European Union stunt as part of the drive to convince us they are all flowery and lovely, paid for out of taxpayers’ money.
Still, not the prickliest Rose on the remain campaign…

Corbyn Aide Grovels For His Job But Fails to Apologise For Abuse

Earlier today loony Corbyn aide Andrew Fisher deleted his Twitter account in an attempt to hide abusive tweets he had sent Labour MPs. This evening he has apologised for backing a rival candidate against Emily Benn in Croydon South. In a letter to Labour General Secretary Iain McNicol, Fisher laughably claims it was all a big joke:

Cumberbatch: “F**k” the Government’s Billion Pounds for Refugees
by WikiGuido
Tiresome lefty luvvie Benedict Cumberbatch has been boring his audiences with more ‘poetry’ criticising the government’s response to the refugee crisis. According to the Mail, Cumberbatch told the Barbican crowd: “F**k the politicians” for not doing enough. Presumably that means he thinks “f**k” the £900 million they have spent on aid to help people escaping Syria. And “f**k” the cash spent providing running water, food and medicines to the hundreds of thousands in camps in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.
Slow clap.
