This book could have included ‘a man and his dog’ in its title. The subject of this absorbing account of flying in WWII is based on the inseparable bound between man and dog. It is a moving story with humour and sadness. A Great Read that is Highly Recommended.

The War in East Africa 1939-1943

B2281

Part of the ‘Despatches From The Front’ Series, this presents a fine collection of highly detailed reports as primary source material. The war in the Far East has often been called the Forgotten War but the campaigns in East Africa received even less attention. This book will be welcomed by historians and enthusiasts but its affordable price makes it available to a wider readership. Most recommended.

“Harley-Davidson’s had a challenging quarter in its core US market”

HarleyD

Emmanuel Tahar, Chief Executive of Third Bridge, comments on Harley-Davidson’s second quarter results:

“Harley-Davidson’s had a challenging quarter in its core US market. Our surveys have shown that dealer sentiment on new motorcycle sales has taken a more negative turn since the start of the year. Nevertheless, the majority of respondents still share a positive outlook for the brand and believe it retains its leading position in the market today – although it continues to fight off a threat from Polaris’ Indian motorcycles. But Harley have a loyal customer base, and the popularity and attendance of HOG’s Rider Academy for first time riders is potentially a bright spot for the future.”
