News Update North Sea Regatta Week 2017

Second day of the Delta Lloyd North Sea Regatta, Scheveningen, the Netherlands, Saturday, 23rd of May 2015.

Happy crew!
With a little more than a month to go to the start of the North Sea Regatta we have another update for you. We have almost 60 entries for the offshore race to Harwich which makes us a very happy crew! For the North Sea Regatta inshore races we’re expecting a few more SB20’s and open sports boats, of which at this moment only a few registered. The J22 Worlds almost reached the 40 participants, which is pretty awesome! If you still want to participate at the North Sea Regatta inshore races please let us know, so we can make sure we can help you all.

Are you still looking for crew or a spot to sail the races? Check the North Sea Regatta Crew Pool or send us an e-mail and we’ll share your request.
20% off when you book a room in the famous Kurhaus
Have you ever wanted to stay in the most famous hotel of The Hague, right on Scheveningen beach? When you book a room during the North Sea Regatta this year you get a 20% discount >>

Sailors for the Seas Clean Regattas Program
To keep the oceans and the seas as clean as possible we have joined the Clean Regattas Program. The North Sea Regatta Green Team makes sure we meet the requirements for the program and we find it important to share what we’re going to do. You can find our list on the North Sea Regatta website!

In stead of plastic bags, Vrolijk Watersport has arranged a cool and reusable dry bag for every boat, which we think is pretty awesome! We would like to ask you to bring reusable water bottles to our event and make sure you bring your trash to the bins we provide in the race village.

The place to be: North Sea Regatta Sailors Home
There’s always this one cosy place where you can find everyone after the race, a place to have dinner and drinks with team mates, other sailors, friends and family. This year this place will be the North Sea Regatta Sailors home in former At Sea, where you can find our Sailors Bar for drinks ands something to eat. You don’t need to buy tickets or coupons for drinks, you can pay for your food and drinks cash or by card.
Wanted: Volunteers for new positions!

We have a few new positions this year during the North Sea Regatta and for that reason we’re also looking for a few new volunteers. We’re looking for people to tap a few beers, help serving food and the chefs in the kitchen of our new Sailors’ Home. Do you have friends, family or anyone else you know who’s perfect for this job and who would like to have a fun week in Scheveningen? Please let them know we’re looking for them and they can send an email to Mireille, our volunteer manager at vrijwilligers@nsr.nl.

We also have a few spots for volunteers on the water (finish boat and RIB drivers) and at our results office. If you know someonw who can help us out, please let us know!
