President’s Infrastructure Plan Falls Short on Inland Waterways
February 12, 2018 — Inland waterways interests were singing the praises of President Trump after he visited the Ohio River last year and vowed to fix the nation’s crumbling infrastructure including its neglected system of locks and dams with a massive infrastructure initiative. Now, however, their tune seems to have changed after seeing the President’s FY2019 budget request.

Wight Shipyard wins its first export order
Britain’s Wight Shipyard Co has secured its first export order. It comes from Austria and is for a 250-passenger river catamaran to operate for Central Danube Region Marketing & Development GmbH’s Twin City Liner.

This latest ship to be ordered from Meyer Turku will be named Mein Schiff 7, and will be built to the same design as TUI’s new Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2.
