MELGES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Melges World League 2018 racing season is running fast on the road to Cagliari – Sardinia, Italy.
The World Championships are the crown jewel of the Melges World League, the special championship system for the Melges 20 and Melges 32 Classes. Worlds will be hosted by the Yacht Club Cagliari in October, on one of the best Italian, Mediterranean and international race courses.
No doubt, the 2018 Melges World Championship promises to be one of the best Melges Worlds regatta ever due to superlative wind conditions, Mediterranean hot weather, the flavours of Italian food and the warm hospitality of Cagliari.

VIEW TO A THRILL

Welcome to a preview of the 2018 Melges 24 World Championship, to be hosted by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club with an assist from C.F.S.A. As a warm up to the Worlds and as a standalone regatta, the Canadian Championships are first up: same venue, just prior to the main event. MELGES 24 EUROPEANS
Melges 24 European Championship 2018 will be hosted by the Fraglia Vela Riva in Riva del Garda, Italy on August 3-10. You are invited to sign up for the Melges 24 European title event in one of the most favourite sailing spots – Lake Garda! Practice on Lake Garda beforehand, at the Melges 24 European Sailing Series Event No. 3, June 29-July 1. Read more

GORANSSON COMES OUT ON TOP
After four days and nine races, Richard Goransson’s INGA FROM SWEDEN has been crowned champion of the first Melges 40 Grand Prix regatta of the 2018 season, an event held in conjunction with Sail Racing PalmaVela hosted by Real Club Nautico de Palma. With Goransson at the helm, Cameron Appleton called tactics, and Harry Melges, Federico Michetti, Oliver Tizzard, Ian Baker, Marco Carpinello, Christian Kamp and Alex Sinclair served as crew members. Hear from Richard after the big win.
Making the final race of the event count as a bullet, DYNAMIQ SYNERGY driven by Monaco’s Valentin Zavadnikov with Michele Ivaldi as tactician finished second overall. Japan’s Yukihiro Ishida aboard SIKON with tactician Manu Weiller came third.
