June 29, 2018 – Pdrtoroz, Slovenia – It’s again Garda Lake for the Melges 24 fleet that, from today and for the upcoming weekend, will be racing at the third event of the 2018 European Sailing Series. 46 crews from 13 countries from all over Europe and also from the USA have gathered in Circolo Vela Torbole to start testing the race course of North Garda Lake, where the Melges 24 Europeans will take place on August 3-10.

Blue Economy Bulletin June 2018
June saw a number of international environmental days that highlighted the need for developing a sustainable blue economy. On World Environment Day, PEMSEA published a timeline highlighting our progress towards building a blue economy for the East Asian Seas. On World Oceans Day, we looked at the issue of plastic waste, outlining some simple steps everyone can take, and highlighting examples of plastic initiatives PEMSEA has supported. We are proud to share a story about the impact of Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) projects in the Tangerang Regency of Indonesia, and to have participated in the 6th GEF Assembly which finished today.

THE NORAUTO GC32 SETS SAIL FOR PORTUGAL
It is in the famous seaport of Lagos (in Algarve), with the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop, that the second series of the GC32 Racing Tour will take place. After kickstarting the season in Lake Garda one month ago, the Norauto team, leading the overall ranking following the first event, returns with seven other elite teams from the 27th of June to the 1st of July for the GC32 Lagos Cup. They will battle it out on an optimal playing field for the foilers, with weather conditions consisting of thermal winds and flat-water sailing.
