First time for everything, to much wind @ King’s Cup
By AsianYachting MultiMedia
6th December 2019: The combination of a high pressure system over Mongolia, heralds the beginning of winter and the remnants of Tropical Storm KAMMURI lingering in the South China Sea, have produced a strong North Easterly flow, over most South East Asian nations. Start Boat A was on station at sea and recorded 30 to 35 knots for a delay to be called, with hourly updates, to keep everyone informed. It didn’t stop the International dinghy classes taking to the water, but after several strong gusts capsized some boats, that sent the navy ribs and keelboat support boats into rescue mode, the racing was called off and the fleet went back to the beach. Never in the King’s Cup, 33 year history has racing been cancelled, because there is to much wind, but there is always a first time. Check out the AY Photo Gallery
