The last two weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for Brexit. On Friday, October 16th the Prime Minister finally seemed to stick to his word by proclaimed the United Kingdom would walk away from the European Union negotiations on World Trade Organisation terms if the EU did not come forward with radically different proposals. However, just a few days later, on Wednesday October 21st, we were told intense trade talks were back on track with the EU’s Chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, arriving in London the following next day!

This week, Amy Coney Barrett made history.
Following her nomination by President Trump, the United States Senate voted 52 – 48 to confirm Judge Barrett to the Supreme Court of the United States. In doing so, Justice Barrett became the 5th woman appointed to the court since its inception in 1789.
