Moving almost 14,500 pounds of equipment and supplies into the International Space Station takes a lot of planning. That’s why the astronauts of space shuttle Endeavour are reviewing the process before beginning their mission, scheduled to lift off Nov. 14 at 7:55 p.m. EST.
Packed inside a cargo module called Leonardo, much of the gear is either built into large racks about the size of refrigerators or placed in large padded bags. Leonardo is loaded into Endeavour’s payload bay for the flight and will be attached to a port on the station while the spacecraft are linked.
