The Portaferry RNLI Lifeboat was called to the aid of a yacht – and to a very different rescue in Co. Down this weekend.
Portaferry volunteers first joined with colleagues from the Newcastle lifeboat to rescue a 66-year old gentleman whose yacht got into difficulties early on Sunday morning. The Newcastle volunteers successfully treated the man for minor injuries and guided the yacht to Ardglass, around 10 miles south of Strangford.
