The fundraising appeal for a new all-weather lifeboat at the Lizard station received a boost from money raised at a local beer festival.
Thanks to the second annual beer festival held at The Witchball Restaurant during, the summer Coxswain Phil Burgess received a cheque for £3,017.38 towards the appeal for the new Tamar Lifeboat.
Volunteer crew member Adam Weston and his family, who run The Witchball Restaurant in the Lizard village, hosted the event over three days and gave customers to chance to sample over 20 Cornish beers from many local breweries.
Entertainment was provided throughout the weekend and the event was declared a resounding success.
Our thanks go to everyone at The Witchball for their hard work and support of the appeal for the new Lizard Lifeboat which is due to arrive in 2012.
